Family Support Center, B2H

The Brooklyn Art Incubator, Family Support Center, B2H is a local compliment to existing Bridges to Health services. The center is uniquely qualified to expedite and increase service delivery to families in need. Family Support Center, B2H’s Mission is to assists adoption and foster care agencies to achieve permanency for children and families while providing support and assistance to pre-adoptive and biological families.Successful reunification and adoptions will be better insured. Therefore, children will be less likely to re-enter the foster care system.

Location and Facilities

The BAI Family Support and Respite Center’s centralized location offers security and stabilization. It is located at 677 Lafayette Ave. between Marcy and Tompkins. The center is housed in the Magnolia Tree Earth Center, and directly across the street from Von King Park. BAI takes full advantage of the park. It features a full size amphitheatre available for use by BAI and its performing arts students.

FSC is perfectly located in the community and prepared to offer an array of serves including but not limited to facilities in which to host Family Team Conferences, individual and group services. Our space is perfect for our Brooklyn famous ARTZ BIZ KIDZ program.

Organizational History and Capacity

Brooklyn Art Incubator, Inc., (BAI as a parent to, Family Support Center, B2H) is a community based not for profit 501 (c) 3. BAI is currently in good standing with NYS Bureau of Charities and receives funding from NYC DCA, BAC, DFA, DOE and NYSDEC. BAI was founded in 2003, when a local artist and educator developed a program envisioning the use of art to help young people overcome the challenges that make growing up, as productive, successful members of the community appear to be an unachievable goal.

Staffing Capabilities

Some of our staff are artists who teach the weekend and after school classes at our site.  Children and family members are welcome to attend the classes.  Arrangements for payment will be made between the family, their foster care agency and BAI.  B2H Children have access to our full array of ARTZ BIZ KIDZ Classes. Please refer to the programs offered on the drop down menu.

Services

Brooklyn Art Incubator’s Family Support Center, B2H facilitates the development of healthy families. It provides a space that allows WSP to introduce clients to a supportive neighborhood based setting. There they will find the required facilities for offering services such as: Skills Building, Care Giver Support, Special Needs Community Advocacy, Supportive Employment, Crisis Avoidance, Pre-vocational Services and Respite Service, and more. At the same time of offering respite to families, we offer flexible hours. Weekends are encouraged.
